This house was barn and stable which have been sold for only €21000. The structure is typical of the Abruzzo region with an underlying stable and a barn at the first floor.
With our advice for project and site management, the restoration of the entire property has been ultimated in April 2012 using skilled craftsmen and local builders.
The project was achieved using old materials, respecting the medieval architecture and using modern environmentally sustainable methods:
-Viewed stones.
-Wood roof insulated with 5cm of compressed canes and covered with recovered tiles.
-Plastering with bio-insulation and typical lime.
-All floors are insulated with a layel of cork of 2cm.
-Low temperature underfloor-heating system which allows the best thermical efficiency (water heated from 30 to 45°C rather than 55 to 70°C for a normal system with radiators), uniform and healthy heating for all the rooms, therefore eliminating the hassle of traditional radiators on the walls, and finally using a wood stove/fireplace and solar pannels which both heat the water of the heating system so that it allows to save traditionnal energy (Gas) and money (WOOD CONSUMPTION €/year 500; POWER CONSUMTION €/year 220).
